Te Reo Māori digital technology terms.

These are terms shared via the weekly pānui in alphabetical order by english term and updated every week. There are often multiple Te Reo Māori words for each of the technology terms.

Code, Coding = Waehere, Tuhiwaehere

Computer screen = mata rorohiko

Computer software = pūmanawa rorohiko

Computer virus = ngārara rorohiko

Data = raraunga

Database Administrator = Kaiwhakahaere Patengi Raraunga 

Debugging = patuiro

Designer = Kaihoahoa 

Developer = Kaiwhanake 

Device or hardware = taputapu

Digital technologies = Hangarau Matihiko

Electronic newsletter = kawerongo rorohiko

Email = īmēra

Emoji = Pūatahanga

Helpdesk Operator = Kaituku awhina-a-waea Rorohiko 

Input = tāura

Internet = ipurangi

Laptop computer = rorohiko pōnaho

Microphone = hopuoro

Mobile phone = waea kawe

Output = tāputa

Password = kupuhipa

Process = Tukanga

Resources = ngā rauemi

Robot = karetao (which is the word for puppet)

Robotics = mātai karetao

Systems Analyst = Poutatari Punaha 

Time series data = raraunga houanga

Qualitative data = raraunga kounga

Quantitive data = raraunga tatau 

Unmute yourself = whakaarahia tō reo

Video = ataata

Viral = horapa

Website = Paetukutuku

Widget = Taupānga iti

Work phone = waea mahi

You're on mute = kua ngū tō reo
