DIA seeks comment on new-look Marketplace

Techblog staff. 14 February 2019, 4:58 pm

The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) continues to move away from the traditional panel model for tendering for government business and is moving towards a more flexible, open approach that should change the way government buys products and services.

The DIA Marketplace aims to simplify the process for vendors and buyers alike, should enable smaller companies to pitch for government business and make the process less difficult all round, and to kick off the new year DIA is launching a round of consultation seeking feedback from the supplier market around "service integration and managed services" (SIMS) service profiles.

"This feedback will inform the SIMS service design to ensure that the views of the supplier community are considered before the services are finalised and made available in the digital Marketplace," says the DIA.

Details around the market engagement criteria are available from GETS and submissions on this round of consultation are due in before 22 February. Submissions received after that date will be put into the next round of review.
