Nethui 2017 open for registrations

Paul Brislen, Editor. 02 August 2017, 11:27 am

Registrations for NetHui 2017 are now open and InternetNZ and will take take place on November 9 and 10 in Auckland.

The cost per ticket has been reduced to $55 a ticket although InternetNZ has introduced a "champion ticket" which costs $150 for those who want to support the event beyond simply buying a ticket.

InternetNZ also has a fellowship programme for those who would like to attend but my struggle to justify the cost. In conjunction with the Asia-Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC), these fellowships can help pay for travel, accomodation, childcare or other event-related expenses. InternetNZ wants to see encourage youth, women and people of Māori and Pasifika descent to attend NetHui.

The NetHui programme has closed and the full programme will be released in the coming days.

On November 8, just prior to the main conference, the New Zealand Internet Research Forum (NZIRF) will be held. The Forum brings together people from a range of sectors involved with or interested in Internet research. Attendees share perspectives, discuss potential collaborations and most importantly help build a research network community that benefits New Zealanders.

Launched in 2014, the NetHui conference has become a staple of the New Zealand tech scene and is a "community event where everyone's opinions and ideas are equally valued".

Full details are on the NetHui registration page.
