Quick ITP update and upcoming events

We need your help and we need it urgently!

The NZ Excellence in IT Awards nominations close this Wednesday, and we need your help to identify the people and teams doing great things in tech. Nominees don't have to be members but do have to be awesome! Who do you know that's awesome? Nominate them quick!

Also, we're halfway through our roadshow across NZ giving an update on ITP's strategy and operations - heading down south next!

And have you thought about being a mentor? Help us make a big difference to someone else's career.

Engaging with our local tech communities

ITP President Anthony Dowling and I have thoroughly enjoyed engaging with members in Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga last week and are looking forward to doing the same across the rest of the country this week.

If you're in Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch or Dunedin, please do come along to our update presentations this week. As well as talking through a couple of projects that are of interest to members, it's a great opportunity to engage and hear your thoughts.

Covid has obviously caused major disruption to almost everything and changed all of our lives - at least in the short term. However it's so energising to see, as we (hopefully) come out the other side, our local tech communities rebuilding momentum and re-engaging right across New Zealand.

In that light it has been so awesome to see so many of our members put their hands up to be on our local branch committees and to help us rebuild our local momentum as an organisation. We'll shortly be announcing some fantastic teams across New Zealand who will help drive local engagement going forward.

Alongside announcing our excellent 2021 branch committees, we'll also shortly kick off an election for our members to choose our National Board. As always, we have some amazing, talented and experienced candidates who will each bring a strength to the Board. Good stuff.

TechWeek is here!

Yay, it's time for TechWeek! It's so great to see so many individuals and organisations right across the country come together to put on events to showcase some of the awesome things happening in our industry.

Wherever you are in New Zealand (or overseas, via TechWeek TV) there are events for Whats On.

And huge kudos to NZTech for creating TechWeek and indexing it all on the TW website. Great stuff.

NZ Excellence in IT Awards - last chance to nominate

AwardsWho do you know doing awesome things in our sector? Let us know, so we can celebrate them in the NZ Excellence in IT Awards.

But get in quick - nominations close this Wednesday!

Become an ITP Mentor today

As many ITP members will be aware, we recently re-launched our Mentoring programme for tech professionals. The free programme helps our people set clear career goals and objectives, understand that they have the ability to achieve these, and put in place a plan to do it.

The launch has been a huge success... so much so that we need more mentors! We're especially looking for senior developers, people who have moved from ops into management roles. and anyone with gaming or design type experience.

The process is super easy, and we provide induction, guidance, resources etc - you're not on your own.

Does that sound like you? Check out more info here
