Accounting software giant Xero have announced they're extending their Xero Assistance Programme - an initiative that gives small business owners free and confidential counselling - to all business owners in Auckland, regardless of whether they're Xero customers.

After 78 consecutive days in lockdown, we know there is an enormous strain on the wellbeing of Auckland small business owners. Xero's latest Small Business Insights show sales were down 18.4 percent in Auckland and small businesses were paid four and a half days slower than this time last year.

With no clear end in sight, and with Covid-19 now established in the community there's no guarantee things will bounce back when restrictions are eased.
That's a lot of weight for Auckland small business owners to bear, and many are experiencing poor wellbeing, Xero says.

In answer, they're expanding the Xero Assistance Programme (XAP) to offer all 200,000+ Auckland small business owners free and confidential professional counselling until the end of the year. This is regardless of whether they are a Xero customer or not and includes up to 3 sessions.
