Kia Takatū ā-Matihiko | Digital Readiness was launched last week by the Minister of Education, Hon. Hipkins at Northland School in Wellington: https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/teachers-get-more-professional-support-digital-technologies-curriculum 

This nationwide $12 million programme aims to support 44,000 educators to access the programme to help them to get ready to effectively integrate the new digital curriculum content in the New Zealand Curriculum and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa into their local curriculum. 

This investment includes a range of resources and services to help teachers gain more confidence in delivering the new content in their schools and kura.

The self-review tool e Tokorima-a-Mahuika is the suggested first step of the Readiness Programme - it has been designed to give feedback and suggested next steps to teachers and kaiako on how 'ready' they are as they start and progress through their learning journey. The programme also offers Ngā Kiriahi, where teachers can connect online and learn from each other in an inclusive and encouraging way. Face-to-face meetings will also be organised to connect people of various levels of readiness in their regions.

Community facilitators will be available to assist whenever, and there is an online help group for when people get stuck. Teachers can work their way through the range of pīkau which provide a range of practical activities and online community to support learning at their own pace. A Digital Leaders group of individuals who can support those in their community will be established. The Digital leaders group will receive development through an online course and alongside face-to-face and online meetings.
