Get involved: Supporting teams in schools
The Tahi Rua Toru Tech challenge is running in schools and kura throughout the country and we have a huge number of teams signing up this month!
The challenge is simple: students identify a problem in their school or local community, and with the guidance of an industry mentor, use Digital Technologies to solve it over 10-12 weeks. The role of a mentor is to act as support and guidance for the students as they build their projects and this can be done by visiting your chosen school or via video call.
Given Covid-19, a high concentration of schools are taking on the 123Tech Challenge this term, and we urgently need more industry mentors in all areas.
It's not a huge time commitment, but makes a massive difference to the teams of kids undertaking the Challenge. It's also a great way to give back to the community and support young people as they explore and learn digital technologies.
We have an awesome community and would love to have you involved. You don't have to be an ITP member to be a 123Tech team mentor.
