Update from ITPNZ

Here's a quick weekly update from ITP CEO Paul Matthews.

ITP is all about developing our people. This week we look at a couple of initiatives in brief - the free and comprehensive advisory service for Corporate Partners and ITP professional certifications, plus a reminder about the ITP Liability Insurance offering.

The team has been hard at work on a significant conference-related initiative which we will announce next week.

Getting the most from your people

Just a reminder that ITP offers a free advisory service for Corporate Partners to help put in place professional development pathways for your digital and IT teams.

This gives you access to some of the leading SFIA and skills management consultants in New Zealand to help get you started. Our team will work with you to put in place a plan to gain greater understanding of your current capability, map out your future requirements (aligned with your overall business strategy), and create a roadmap to get there.

It'll also put all of your staff on a professional development pathway to ensure they are growing, and you get the most out of your investment in people.

The service launched last month and take-up so far has been really strong. If you're keen to find out more, check out this page or email [email protected]

Surge in ITP Certification applications

ITP will be shortly embarking on a significant public promotional campaign around Chartered IT Professional NZ and Certified Technologist certifications, the professional certifications for those practicing in tech.

We've had a surge in applications, with more CITPNZ applications in January this year than any month since we changed to CITPNZ in 2015.

If you haven't already and are keen to get ahead of the curve you should consider applying to become a Chartered IT Professional or Certified Technologist now.

Reminder: ITP Liability Insurance

If you're contracting or own your own business, you need liability insurance. As well as being a requirement for most contracts, liability insurance gives you a level of peace-of-mind if things go wrong.

ITP offers a brokered insurance scheme for ITP members. By negotiating on behalf of thousands of members, the ITP scheme offers an extremely cost effective option for Professional, Statutory and Public Liability insurance.

Digital Skills Hui later this month

ITP is a founding member of the Digital Skills Forum, a coordinating group of government agencies and tech sector bodies working to align initiatives to improve digital skills across government and the private sector.

On behalf of the forum, you're invited to register for a significant Digital Skills Hui taking place in Wellington on 27 March, 2019. The hui is free-to-attend but tickets are strictly limited and we really want to ensure that as many people as possible from the ITP community have the opportunity to attend.

The main themes of the hui are:

  • diversity and inclusion in the digital technology sector
  • bridging the gap between education and employment
  • preparing for the future of work

Find out more here and register here.

Significant conference announcement next week

Lastly, keep your eyes peeled for a significant conference announcement next week. The team have been working hard on a conference-related project and we have some big news coming - stay tuned.
