Paul Brislen, Editor. 07 September 2018, 12:32 pm

Embattled minster of communications, Clare Curran, has resigned her ministerial portfolios.

Her roles as Minister of Communications, Minister of Digital Media and Minister of Broadcasting will be taken up by Kris Faafoi, joining his existing portfolio which includes Civil Defence, Consumer Affairs and associate minister of Immigration.

Faafoi is a former journalist who has worked for TVNZ and the BBC and was the first New Zealand MP of Tokelauan descent to be elected.

Faafoi has also picked up the role of Minister of Customs from Meka Whaitiri while she is being investigated for a staffing-related matter.
