Final consultation on new Cybersecurity and Testing qualifications
IT Professionals New Zealand and NZQA National Qualifications Services, as co-developers of sub-degree IT and computing qualifications in New Zealand, invites feedback at https://itp.nz/quals by Friday 20 April 2018 on the draft cybersecurity and software testing qualifications proposed to be added to the suite of current computing and IT qualifications.
We thank all who took the time to provide feedback to the September 2017 consultation confirming the need for the proposed new qualifications; to all members of the working groups tasked with developing and refining the draft qualifications, and the e-support network for providing input on the the drafts during the development process. Approval to develop the qualifications was granted in December 2017.
The draft qualifications have been further developed and refined by expert working groups following stakeholder and evaluator feedback, and we are now seeking your feedback on the drafts before they are finalised for submission for approval to list.
We invite you to consider the consultation document which includes detail on each of the proposed qualifications:
- NZ Diploma in Cybersecurity (Level 6) (120 credits)
- NZ Diploma in Software Testing (Level 6) (120 credits)
- NZ Certificate in Information Technology (Practitioner) (Level 6) (40 credits) [Ref: 2599] - additional strand in Software Testing (existing strand in IT Security)
and complete a consultation response to share your view at itp.nz/quals. Alternatively, general comments or more detailed submissions on the draft qualifications may be emailed to email@example.com.
Your feedback on the draft qualifications will be considered, and if endorsed by this consultation, these qualifications (or a revised version depending on the nature of feedback received) will be submitted to NZQA Quality Assurance for 'Approval to list a qualification'.
