Paul Brislen, Editor. 02 October 2017, 10:48 am

Scandal struck Fuji Xerox has appointed a new CEO for the New Zealand end of its business.

Chief Operating Officer Peter Thomas gets to take over in the hot seat from October 1 and the company will be hoping the appointment puts an end to the reporting scandal which has seen both the New Zealand branch management and senior leaders from the company's parent group fall on their swords

Thomas spent 23 years with Westpac Bank with roles n the financial market's international business and corporate banking units.

He has also worked as CIO for the New Zealand Defence Force and was Deputy CEO of the corporate services division of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) during its creation.

Fuji Xerox also introduced a new role, chairman of the board, and appointed Haruhiko Imai to oversee New Zealand operations, suggesting head office is keen to keep a close eye on its wayward subsidiary. The parent company has also initiated legal action against two former executives as a result of internal investigations into the scandal.
